Madison County VINELink Coverage
Arkansas VINE is the state's victim-information and notification network. Its public face is VINELink Arkansas. County jail and state correction records are both covered. The Arkansas VINE description says county-jail data transfers every 15 minutes. That interval describes movement between systems. It is not a promise that someone just arrested will appear that fast.
VINELink works best for one known person. It can show present custody, a facility, an offender identifier, and status events open to notifications. It won't replace the Madison County jail roster for the newest bookings. Nor does it substitute for ARCourts case outcomes or the state Division of Correction search for a sentenced prisoner.
The Arkansas VINELink search page is the statewide entry screen.

This is the statewide search entry point. It serves Madison County custody checks. Enter a name to start. Results show who is in custody now.
Check a Madison County Inmate
Similar names trip up searches, so enter enough detail to separate people who share one. A failed search is still not proof of freedom. A fresh arrest may not have transferred yet. Spelling can differ, or the person may sit in another custody system entirely.
- Open VINELink Arkansas and choose the people search.
- Enter the last name and first name, or use the available offender identifier.
- Narrow a broad result with age or date-of-birth details when the interface offers them.
- Review each possible match and confirm the facility and status before registering.
- Check the sheriff roster or call Madison County when no reliable match appears.
The county roster offers a separate Current Inmates view. It is the best first check for someone believed to be in the Madison County Jail right now. VINELink covers custody across systems. It also adds alerts.
Madison VINELink Result Fields
Fields vary by agency and case. Treat a status as part of a larger picture, not the whole story. Read it next to its source and update time. A result can name the person and custody event while leaving out the full booking sheet or final charge history.
| Field | What it supports |
|---|---|
| Name | Starting identity match; compare other details. |
| Offender ID | Helps distinguish similar names and return to a record. |
| Custody status | Indicates the status currently delivered to VINE. |
| Facility | Shows the reporting jail or correctional location when supplied. |
| Status event | May reflect release, transfer, escape, return, or other tracked change. |
| Notification option | Lets a user register where that record and event support alerts. |
VINELink status is a custody clue. It is not a court outcome. To follow the docket, use Search ARCourts for the case record and later events. Court filings give what a custody alert cannot.
Register for Arkansas Custody Alerts
Registration costs nothing. Arkansas materials list phone, text, email, and TTY notification channels. Options depend on the record and event. Keep registration details private, and hold more than one safe contact path when the situation calls for it.
- Open the confirmed person record and select the registration or notification choice.
- Choose the available alert event, such as release or transfer.
- Enter the phone number or email address requested by the interface.
- Create the required four-digit PIN for phone notification registration.
- Complete confirmation and save the record or registration details.
A PIN only confirms you received an automated call. It is not the person's offender ID. Update the registration whenever contact information changes. Alerts help, but no notification should be the whole safety plan.
Madison VINELink Limits and Checks
VINELink does not reach every custody system. Federal custody uses the BOP locator. Immigration detention uses the ICE locator. Someone moved into Arkansas state prison should also be checked through the Arkansas Division of Correction inmate search. Do not merge those tools into one implied timeline without confirming identity and dates.
For a fresh Madison County arrest, set VINELink beside the Daily Arrest Report and the live sheriff roster. The RPS New Inmates view spans 48 hours. Current Inmates answers whether someone is still on the county roster. Recent Releases can show an arrest and release time within its own 48-hour window. For an urgent question, call the sheriff at 479-738-2320.
Note: A missing VINELink match can reflect lag, spelling, another agency, or a different custody system rather than release.
Madison Custody Transitions
Custody can change without the case ending. A person might bond out, move to another jail, transfer to state correction custody after sentencing, or land in a federal system. VINELink may report the event. Meanwhile the county roster entry can shift or vanish.
- Booking
- The jail intake event after an arrest.
- Transfer
- Movement from one holding agency or facility to another.
- Release
- Departure from that custody placement, not dismissal of charges.
- Disposition
- The court’s resolution of a charge or case.
Keep three clocks separate: booking time, VINE event time, and court date. Each answers a different question. Mixing them creates false timelines. After sentencing, the Arkansas Division of Correction search becomes the record to watch.

This is a state-prison search, not the Madison County jail’s new-booking feed.
Verify Madison Arrest and Court Status
VINE controls the notification record. The sheriff controls Madison County booking and custody data. The court controls disposition. When sources disagree, do not force one answer. Note the time of each check. Then ask the office responsible for the disputed fact, since that office holds the authoritative version. A clear question to the right office beats guesswork.
Use Madison Custody Alerts Carefully
A release alert can mean bond, a finished hold, a court order, or a transfer out of the reporting facility. None of those events closes the case. A transfer notice may simply mean the person sits in a new agency's custody. Read the event text closely. Then check with the facility itself. Confirming directly with the holding agency answers what the automated message left out.
When two people share a name, identifiers do the sorting. Age, date of birth, offender ID, and facility location can separate lookalike records in a hurry. Never trust the first match. Save the offender ID from the record you confirm. If the fields conflict, call the holding agency instead of blending two Madison County records into one. Phone alerts add a four-digit PIN that confirms receipt. Guard that PIN. Email and text have their own weak spots: spam filters, changed numbers, full inboxes, carrier faults, and outages. Arkansas VINE is free, but no channel is flawless, so keep contact details current and recheck the source when a message never lands.
A fresh Madison County arrest deserves a parallel check. Start with Madison County New Inmates, the tab for bookings from the last 48 hours. Then search Current Inmates. If the person may be gone, scan Recent Releases. These roster views can answer a near-term question before VINE picks up and posts a transfer. For urgent needs, the sheriff's main line is the fallback. Older bookings can drop off the public tabs entirely. VINELink helps only if it still carries the custody, since it is a notice system, not an archive. Search ARCourts for the case instead. Ask the Circuit Clerk when a docket lacks a document, or send the sheriff a focused request for a past booking or release date. Each route answers a different question.
State-prison movement changes the source you need. The Arkansas Division of Correction search covers sentenced state custody, not the county jail's newest admissions. BOP and ICE locators cover their own systems, and a federal or immigration result needs its own identifier and date check. A blank VINELink result does not prove the person is out of every custody system. Safety plans need more than a database. If an alert ties to an immediate threat, call emergency services or the relevant agency right away. Never approach someone because a status changed. VINELink gives notice, not safety help or legal advice. Date-stamp every check you make. State that VINELink showed a status at a stated time and that the holding agency should confirm it. Custody data shifts while the court case runs its own course.
Registering changes nothing about record access. For a booking date, bond, charge, or court assignment, go back to sheriff and court sources. Notification is its one strength. It is no archive, case file, or certified record.
If service seems down, retry the state page, check the Madison County roster, and call the holding agency. Write down each attempt's time. A temporary outage or delayed transfer stays an unresolved check, never proof of release, and the same rule applies when a saved alert stops arriving.
